A magnitude 5.1 earthquake struck San Francisco Bay Area on October 25,2022. It is the strongest earthquake the region has seen in eight years.
The U.S. Geological Survey said the earthquake struck at 11:42 a.m. local time about 12 miles east of San Jose at a depth of about 4 miles. It is about 40 miles southeast of downtown San Francisco. There are no reports of injuries or significant damage as of now.
